Our lights crafted in powder coated aluminium are designed to offer lasting durability and a refined, contemporary finish. To preserve their beauty and ensure long-lasting performance, regular and gentle care is essential. The powder coated aluminium should be dusted regularly with a soft, dry microfiber cloth, and for deeper cleaning, a slightly damp cloth with mild, pH-neutral soap may be used, wiping gently to avoid compromising the coating. Avoid abrasive pads, acidic or alkaline solutions, solvents, or metal polishes, as these can dull, scratch, or damage the surface. Always switch off and unplug the light before cleaning, and prevent exposure to excessive humidity or direct water contact to protect both the coating and the internal electrical components. With simple, consistent care, the powder coated aluminium will maintain its elegant finish, ensuring your light remains beautiful and timeless for years to come.
Metal
Inspired by architecture, the metal finishes of 101 Copenhagen are characterized by treated and rich surfaces, emphasizing the unique potential and qualities of each metal. The finishes of brass, bronze and burned black are all plated one or two times to create a layered metal finish with a subtle warmth. Subsequent to the plating, all metal colours are hand brushed to achieve a beautiful patinated look. Finally, the colour is spray painted with a mat transparent paint, adding a silky mat finish to the metal.
The products of cast aluminium have small marks and variations from the casting process, therefore small holes and unevenness might occur. Products made of cast aluminium is not recommended for outdoor use. Standing outside will cause the product to rust. Resembling architectural concrete facades, the Oxidized aluminium colour is made from a special acid treatment. The metal is dipped in acid for a very short time, creating a raw mat grey surface and leaving large sporadic marks.
Maintenance:
For daily cleaning it is recommended to use a microfiber cloth to remove dust or dirt from the surface. Please do not use cleaning agents that contain acid.
