Our lamps in hand-brushed plated aluminium and grey marble combine refined craftsmanship with natural stone elegance. To preserve their finishes and ensure lasting quality, gentle and regular care is essential.

The hand-brushed plated aluminium should be dusted with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth with mild, pH-neutral soap, wiping gently along the direction of the brushing to maintain its linear texture. Avoid abrasive pads, acidic solutions, harsh detergents, or metal polishes, as these may damage the plated finish and diminish its refined character. Take care when handling the aluminium shade, as its edges can be very sharp always clean with caution to avoid injury.

The grey marble should be treated with care to maintain its natural depth and veining. Dust regularly with a microfiber cloth, and if necessary, wipe with warm water and a very mild soap solution, then dry immediately with a clean, lint-free cloth to avoid water marks. Never use acidic cleaners (such as vinegar or citrus-based products), bleach, or abrasive pads, as these can etch or dull the stone’s surface.

Always switch off and unplug the lamp before cleaning and avoid placing it in areas with high humidity or direct water contact. With simple, consistent care, the hand-brushed plated aluminium will preserve its crafted elegance, and the grey marble will retain its natural sophistication ensuring your lamp remains timeless and refined for years to come.

Metal

Inspired by architecture, the metal finishes of 101 Copenhagen are characterized by treated and rich surfaces, emphasizing the unique potential and qualities of each metal. The finishes of brass, bronze and burned black are all plated one or two times to create a layered metal finish with a subtle warmth. Subsequent to the plating, all metal colours are hand brushed to achieve a beautiful patinated look. Finally, the colour is spray painted with a mat transparent paint, adding a silky mat finish to the metal.

The products of cast aluminium have small marks and variations from the casting process, therefore small holes and unevenness might occur. Products made of cast aluminium is not recommended for outdoor use. Standing outside will cause the product to rust. Resembling architectural concrete facades, the Oxidized aluminium colour is made from a special acid treatment. The metal is dipped in acid for a very short time, creating a raw mat grey surface and leaving large sporadic marks.

Maintenance:
For daily cleaning it is recommended to use a microfiber cloth to remove dust or dirt from the surface. Please do not use cleaning agents that contain acid.
